B. Paul Santos is Managing Partner of Wavemaker Partners and led the establishment of the venture capital firm’s Singapore-headquartered Southeast Asia office in 2012. Wavemaker Partners is Southeast Asia’s go-to VC firm investing in early-stage enterprise, deep tech, and sustainability startups. Since 2012, it has backed 180+ companies, of which 160+ (85%) are in enterprise, deep tech and/or sustainability. The firm has over US$300 million in AUM across four funds in the region, and has seen more than 10 exits with an aggregate enterprise value of over US$700 million. These exits include TradeGecko’s acquisition by Intuit, and Moka’s and Coins.ph’s acquisitions by Gojek. Notable active portfolio companies include eFishery, Growsari, GudangAda, Silent Eight, Borneo, and Iterative Scopes. Today, 75% of Wavemaker’s active portfolio startups in Southeast Asia are aligned with at least one UNDP Sustainable Development Goal.
Paul is also one of the founding partners of Wavemaker Impact, a Southeast Asian venture builder partnered with Enterprise Singapore (ESG) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), that aims to co-found climate tech startups. He also chairs the investment committee for Asian Development Bank (ADB) Ventures. Prior to starting Wavemaker Partners, Paul was an entrepreneur who co-founded six companies and sold three. He started his career as a product manager at Procter & Gamble. He graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University with a B.S. in Management Engineering and a Joint Minor in International Management with the University of Antwerp.
Eric is Co-founder and General Partner of Wavemaker Partners. He started his career in consulting at Arthur Andersen focusing on the retail sector. He then founded 2 companies which were both acquired – Interfoods acquired by La Reina and SiteStar acquired by Lynchburg.net. In 2003 he made the move into venture capital. Since then, he has made over 150 investments including 3 unicorns – Digital Globe (NYSE: DIGI), MindBody (NASDAQ: MB) and Viagogo. He has also led investments into StyleHaul (acquired by RTL), Phunware (IPO) and 17Hats.
Andy joined Wavemaker as a General Partner in 2022.
He is an angel investor, startup coach, and was a former global and regional leader at Facebook, Google, and Stripe. During his 10 years at Facebook, Andy helped the company launch in Asia and served as Managing Director for the SMB and mid-market advertising business, growing it to over 2 million customers and $6 billion in annual revenue.
Andy holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from The Wharton School.
Joel joined Wavemaker Partners in 2016. He is now one of Wavemaker’s Investment Principals, co-leading the firm’s Investment team.
Joel has a soft spot for deep tech opportunities that provide that 10x improvement over the status quo, and also focuses on the hardware opportunities for the firm. He is involved in sourcing, bringing investments through the entire deal process, and managing a segment of the portfolio.
Prior to joining Wavemaker, Joel worked under the M&A Advisory team of PwC Singapore and the Finance team of government-owned venture capital firm Infocomm Investments (now SG Innovate). Joel graduated Summa Cum Laude from Singapore Management University with a double degree in Business Management and Accountancy.
Prior to Wavemaker, Phuong was one of the founding members of Vietnam’s local VC VinaCapital Ventures, where she sourced, executed, and added value to Seed and Series A investments. She also worked as a project coordinator to develop a joint venture project between a Singaporean petrochemical firm and Vietnam’s largest refinery (Dung Quat).
Phuong has a Master of Science in Business Administration and Management, General, from the University College London, U. of London.
She was one of the Forbes 30 Under 30 for Vietnam in 2022.
Michael heads Wavemaker’s US efforts through his extensive reach and knowledge of the US corporate and VC landscape. He will spend the majority of his time in supporting existing portfolio companies, engaging with current and new LPs and identifying potential investment opportunities. Michael’s professional career spans over fifteen years advising and working with technology and media companies in finance and strategy, operations and business development positions. He also co-founded a start-up addressing the inefficiencies of buying/leasing a new car. He started his career as a classically trained investment banker and has advised on over $1B in transactions across tech and media. Michael received his BS from USC’s Marshall School of Business.
John focuses on the sourcing and evaluation of deals across Southeast Asia. He has experience with startups across B2C (Grab & JD.id) & B2B (Horangi & Skuad) sectors across various industries within SEA; engaging in roles from analytics, strategic operations to growth. Prior to Wavemaker, John was the Head of Growth & Chief of Staff for a HR Tech company. John holds a double degree from the University of California, Berkeley and completed his Masters at Imperial College London
Junius is involved in sourcing and evaluation of deals, due diligence, and the preparation of investment proposal for the fund’s investment decisions. He focuses on Retail, Supply-chain and Fintech as well as the Indonesian market. Prior to Wavemaker, Junius was a consultant at EY Indonesia’s Strategy and Transaction where he did numerous M&A transactions and strategic advisories in various sectors, namely; digital economy, power & energy, infrastructure, retail, financial services, media, and real estate. Junius graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance).
Shannon is involved in the sourcing and evaluation of deals, due diligence, and the preparation of investment proposals for the fund’s investment decisions. Prior to Wavemaker, Shannon was part of the investment team at Tembusu Partners focusing on sectors across sustainability and impact, in areas such as climate action and inclusion. She also had a previous stint as an analyst with a local venture fund in Beijing, focusing on China’s health and wellness industries through the National University of Singapore (NUS) Overseas Colleges program. Shannon graduated from NUS with a Bachelor of Business with Honours (Highest Distinction), with a specialisation in Finance.
Bernie focuses on investments in Generative AI and the Philippine market. Since joining the firm in 2020, he has played a key role in deal sourcing, evaluation, due diligence, and preparing investment proposals for the fund’s decision-making.
Before joining Wavemaker, Bernie honed his skills developing and managing data systems at a Rocket Internet startup and a well-known Philippine F&B brand. Despite being a Korean-American based in Singapore, he spent over a decade in the Philippines and pursued a BS in Management Engineering at Ateneo de Manila University.
In addition to Generative AI, Bernie also has a keen interest in Data Science, Machine Learning, Developer Tools, and Low Code-No Code solutions.

Kelvin is involved in the sourcing and evaluation of deals, due diligence, and the preparation of investment proposals for the fund’s investment decisions. Prior to Wavemaker, Kelvin had worked in the Consulting department at EY and was part of the Business Development team at Lifepal. Kelvin graduated with Honours from Nanyang Business School, with a major in Banking and Finance, and was given the NTU President Research Scholar award. During his time in university, Kelvin co-founded 180 Degrees Consulting NTU, a branch of the world’s largest consultancy for non-profits and social enterprises.
Vince is involved in the sourcing and evaluation of deals, due diligence, and the preparation of investment proposals for the fund’s investment decisions. For the firm, he focuses on deals in climate tech and the Philippine market. Prior to joining Wavemaker, Vince was running his own sustainability startup. He also interned for Unilever, where he helped launch a global brand in the Philippines; and in Jefferies-Regis Partners, where he did equity sales and research. He studied in Ateneo de Manila University, where he majored in Management Engineering and minored in Information Technology. He was also the President of the Ateneo MEA, a student organization that advocates for sustainable business.
Chris is involved in the sourcing and evaluation of deals, due diligence, and the preparation of investment proposals for the fund’s investment decisions.
Prior to Wavemaker, Chris was a Management Trainee at Generali Life Insurance, where he primarily engaged in business intelligence. He also has internship experience with startups in Vietnam, including VNG and Coderschool. At VNG, he served as a project manager for an internal optimization project, and at Coderschool, he helped in product development and go-to-market strategy.
Chris graduated with Honors from Fulbright University with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a minor in Applied Mathematics.
Manuel oversees Wavemaker’s Portfolio Management Team (PMT) and Information Systems (IS). Prior to his current role, Manuel was Head of Research for the Firm. He was previously a Research Director for a regional IT Services advisory firm, where he led consulting projects for Fortune 500 clients and institutional bodies such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) and the World Bank.
Prior, Manuel was a Research Manager for International Data Corporation (IDC), heading country operations in the Philippines. In this role, he was responsible for leading market research and consulting projects for regional and country ICT sectors. Manuel graduated with a Master’s degree in Information Sciences from the Universidad de Navarra (Spain) and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Asia & the Pacific (Philippines).
Camille manages a selection of portfolio companies under the Firm’s Portfolio Management Team (PMT). She provides cross-functional support across IR, Finance and Investment Teams. Camille also manages the Firm’s portfolio management platform.
Prior to Wavemaker, Camille was part of the External Reporting Team in Procter & Gamble International Operations where she was the Front Office Manager for the Pakistan market. In this role, she supported company stakeholders in P&G Pakistan, as well as the preparation and filing of financial statements.
Camille graduated Magna Cum Laude and Valedictorian from the De La Salle University (Philippines) holding a double degree in Applied Economics where she majored in Financial Economics and Legal Management.
Micah manages a selection of portfolio companies under the Firm’s Portfolio Management Team (PMT) and works closely with the Investment, Comms and IR Teams. Micah is also a co-administrator for Wavemaker’s Information Systems (IS).
Prior to Wavemaker, Micah was part of the Equity Research Team of CLSA. He provided investment recommendations to foreign and local clients as the analyst covering the port industry in the Philippines. He also had a stint in GCash as a Product Manager for the Wealth Management group. Micah graduated from Ateneo de Manila University (Philippines) where he majored in Management Engineering.
Ysabela is Wavemaker’s resident ESG Associate and looks after the development and integration of the Firm’s ESG Practice. As a member of the Portfolio Management Team, Ysabela typically liaises with the Investor Relations and Investment Teams to implement Wavemaker’s Environmental and Social Management Policies. Prior to this role, she drove strategic projects that centered on sustainability and social impact as a Special Projects Analyst for the Firm.
She was previously an intern for Disini Law and PwC Southeast Asia Consulting where she assisted in operations management and worked on future impact analyses of workforce transformation.
Ysabela is passionate about social impact and sustainability, which she developed as a volunteer for Children’s International Summer Villages (CISV) and her University’s student-led organization in aid of UNICEF. She completed an exchange term in France at IESEG School of Management, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from De La Salle University (Philippines) with a Major in Psychology and Minor in Economic Studies. Ysabela recently earned the CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing.
Yanna handles a selection of companies for Wavemaker’s Portfolio Management Team. She also manages the Firm’s Portfolio Monitoring & Reporting platform, and is tasked to provide data analytics to support the IR and Communication Teams. Yanna also assists in the administration of the Firm’s portfolio management platform.
Prior to Wavemaker, she was an intern under the Privatization and Corporate Affairs Group of the Philippine government’s Department of Finance. She assisted in the oversight of government-owned and controlled corporations in the power and housing sectors, and supported the evaluation of public-private partnership deals in the transportation sector.
Yanna graduated Cum Laude from the Ateneo de Manila University (Philippines) with a Bachelor of Science in Management Engineering.
Julianne handles companies under Wavemaker Impact for Wavemaker’s Portfolio Management Team. Prior to Wavemaker, she was working with a Singapore-based mental health tech start up leading product and go-to-market strategy initiatives. She was previously an Intern at J.P. Morgan, CLEAR (consulting arm of the M&C Saatchi Group), and a Philippine-based healthcare venture builder where she drove various strategy and operations projects. Julianne graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines with a Bachelor of Arts in Management Economics and a Minor in Finance.
Sam manages Wavemaker’s databases and systems under the Portfolio Management Team, creating automations and process improvements that enable seamless, cross-functional workflows across Investment, IR, and Comms Teams. Sam is on her last year in the Ateneo de Manila University with a Bachelor of Science in Management Engineering. She is passionate about data, AI, and systems thinking that optimize and empower organizations.

Steve is an entrepreneur who has built businesses in Asia and Europe. This includes most recently as co-founder of PropertyGuru Group, which he grew into a market leader in Southeast Asia, serving 37 million people monthly. He is a sustainability advocate, angel investor and mentor focused on climate and social impact in Asia.
Doug is a deep tech entrepreneur, having built and exited nuTonomy, one of the very few successful self-driving car companies. He is now 100% focused on investing in clean tech, including green energy, climate change and water and waste technologies.

As Operating Partner, she is responsible for helping the mature companies in Wavemaker’s portfolio with business development, follow-on financing, and eventual exits. She spent 20 years in investment banking raising capital for high growth companies and executing cross-border M&A. In her most recent role, she served as the Head of Corporate Finance SEA at BNP Paribas. Prior to becoming a venture capitalist, she was Executive Director of Investment Banking at JP Morgan Singapore. Sui Ling started her career with Merrill Lynch New York followed by stints in Singapore and London. She graduated from Wellesley College with a Bachelor of Arts in French and Economics.

Andrea is involved in the sourcing and evaluation of deals, due diligence, and the preparation of investment proposals for the fund’s investment decisions. Prior to joining Wavemaker, Andrea interned at Vulpes Ventures, focusing on early-stage SEA investments; and at Deloitte, where she drove the execution of strategic innovation partnerships by establishing key collaborations with start-ups and venture builds. Andrea graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics (Highest Distinction), specializing in Finance. During her university years, she took on a leadership role in NTU Entrepreneurship Society, which serves as NTU’s entrepreneurial ecosystem for aspiring student entrepreneurs.
